How do I delete bluetooth devices from the bluetooth device list in Mac OS X El Capitan?

In the list of bluetooth devices, there is a device I no longer us. How do I delete it? Follow these steps:

1. While holding down "alt/option", click on the bluetooth icon in the top menu bar.

2. A list of bluetooth devices will appear.

3. Choose the device you wish to delete. A contextual menu will appear with the option "Remove".

4. You will be asked to confirm removal of the device.

5. And that's it! After confirming deletion, the item will no longer appear in the bluetooth devices list.
